lyrics

Psalm 33

Let the godly sing for joy to the Lord
It is fiiting for the pure to praise him
Giving praise with melodies on the lyre
Making music on a harp of 10-strings
Oh sing, a new song of praise to him
With skills on the harp, and with joy we sing

For the word of the Lord holds true and we
Can trust everything he does
He loves whatever is good and just
And he fills the earth with His love
He merely spoke and the heavens were made
He breathed the word and the stars were born
He assign the sea to its boundaries
And the ocean like a vast reservoir

Let the whole world fear the Lord and let
Them stand in awe of him
For when he spoke the world began
And appeared at his command
The Lord confounds the nations' plans
And thwarts all of their schemes
But the plans of the Lord stand firm
And His intensions never fail

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord
For the people He has called as his own
The Lord looks down from heaven and sees
The whole of the human race
From his throne he observes
All who live on the earth
He has made there hearts
So he knows everyone of their works

The strongest army cannot save a king
Nor will skills save the warrior
Don't count on horses for victory
For all its strength it will fail to save
But the Lord watches them who fear his name
Who hope in his unfailing love
He keeps them in times of famine
And delivers from the hands death

We put our hope in the Lord alone
He is help and our shield
In him our hearts they do rejoice
For we trust in his holy name
Let your unfailing love surround us Lord
For our hope is in you alone
Let your unfailing love surround us Lord
For our hope is only found in you

The Garden Variety started over the question, "What would it look like to put the book of Psalms to music?" So here is our attempt, with the help of King David, to create a memorable listening experience of the psalter.
